OPI France Collection Revisited Fall/Winter 2008

opi france collection fall winter 2008
This is probably my most favourite OPI collection ever. I bought 8/12 of the polishes that came out with this. I thought this collection was perfect, I love the grey tones, vampy reds and purples. The polishes are chic, perfect for wearing in the fall and winter, and very classic colours. The standouts were definitely You Don't Know Jacques and Parlez Vous OPI? J'adore!

Hits: Parlez-Vous OPI?, You Don't Know Jacques!, Tickle My France-y, and We'll Always Have Paris
Misses: Baguette Me Not, Crepes Suziette.

opi france collection
Bastille My Heart is a deep cherry red with red shimmers. It's pretty watery on first coat, but after 3 it looks fine. The shimmers in this are not annoying or tacky at all, it's a very nice red. If you want the bottle colour, I think 3-4 coats are necessary as it comes out looking a bit lighter. Sorry about the terribly messy swatch, I find reds to be difficult to apply, and doing it in more lighting is not great either.

opi eiffel for this color
Eiffel For This Color is black cherry with red shimmers. This colour is gorgeous! I've read people say this is "almost black" but judging by the swatch, you can tell it's dark but nowhere as dark as say, OPI Lincoln Park After Dark.

We'll Always Have Paris, is a pretty cute name and equally cute colour. This is a deep red, wine, maroon creme with no shimmer. This is possibly my favourite dark red colour in my collection. I think it's the must-have red from this collection.

opi Yes I Can Can
Yes I Can Can! is shimmery dark burgundy red with shimmers, the shimmer look silver, blue and red in the bottle, but do not translate on the nail. Also, next to Eiffel For This Color and Yes I Can-Can is very similar. Unless you loooove vampy reds, I would probably get one or the other.

OPI Louvre Me, Louvre Me Not
Louvre Me, Louvre Me Not is a pretty shimmery medium purple, with pink and purple shimmers. I think this one is the most "fun" colour in this collection. It could belong in a summer line if it really wanted.

OPI Parlez Vous OPI?
Parlez-Vous OPI? to me is the standout colour in this collection. This one is a grey, smokey purple. I can see why so many people love this colour, it's totally cool. Application was really smooth and easy, 2 coats needed. I wear this colour over and over in the fall months.

Tickle My France-y is a nice basic nude, pale pinky nude, appropriate for work or professional settings. I like this one a lot, but I wish it wasn't so sheer, it took me 3 coats+ to get this opacity. It is also pretty close, but not quite to give me that mannequin hands look.

OPI You Don't Know Jacques
You Don't Know Jacques is a brownished grey colour, or greyed brown, mushroom colour, either way, it's really chic, edgy and cool. In the swatch, it comes across more as brown, but in person you can definitely notice more grey. This applies smoothly, this was 2 coats. I saved the best and most popular for last. It's colours like this that make me love OPI to death.

Which colours do you own from this collection?

Parlez Vous looks like a Sephora by OPI that I have... metro chic (I think?) and I loove Tickle My Fance-y and You Don't know Jacques! Are they still available anywhere?

@Bailey - I don't think any of these colours are permanent, so you'd have to buy them online from a nail etailer, unless you happen to luck out and find them in stores.

just a tip-use an orange wood stick dipped in polish remover to clean up cuticles,or even use an old angle makeup brush dipped in remover to clean up:)

@Amanda Popko - definitely will do! I just get so lazy, these swatches take ages to do. ;)

I'm actually wearing Bastille My Heart right now! It is probably my favourite vixen colour that I own. I wonder if I can still hunt down Louvre Me, Louvre me not? It looks really pretty. I wonder how similar it is to Miami Beat?

@Perfectly Imperfect - Miami Beet and Louvre or BMH? LMLMN is purple, Miami Beet is red berry.
