Review: Revlon Age Defying Spa Concealer

I picked up the Revlon Age Defying concealer in '001 Light' a couple of months ago while I was in Illinois on a family trip. This liquid concealer has of those clicky brush pen applicators, usually used for undereye concealing. I was curious how this product performed, as I have the Age Defying foundation as well and like it a lot.

This product is supposed to "Instantly revitalizes and brightens. Protects against fine lines."(Revlon website)
* Stone Therapy minerals help energize stressed skin
* Vitamin C fusion brighten
* Antioxidants help strengthen skin’s natural defense systems

I did not find it had any brightening properties in it, there was no noticeable glow or radiance to the concealer at all, pretty flat in colour. As for protecting against fine lines, that would be a pretty spectacular product if it did so that! It is however very lightweight, blends nicely and covers the undereye area pretty well. I haven't used the YSL Touche Eclat myself, but I remember reading comparisons of that concealer with this one.

Here is what the brush looks like, you basically turn/click the cap at the other end and some of the product deposits on the tip. You have to be careful however as you really can't tell when it comes out, or how much. So I usually turn twice and that's it, if I need more, I do another turn afterwards, that way you don't waste any product.

I picked the lightest shade and it's really not that light, a bit more yellow than my skintone. A major con of Revlon's Age Defying Spa Concealer is it only comes in 4 shades! I actually had the same problem with the Revlon Age Defying Spa foundation, in Canada, the lightest shade that we have is light and I really need fair/light (which is sold in the US). I can make this concealer work but, I would prefer it to be lighter, undereye concealer is supposed to be a touch lighter than your skin.

As for concealing, I think it does a pretty good job, as you can tell blended on the right, it has taken away some of the redness in my skin and goes on pretty smooth and opaque. The product blends smoothly and quickly. It lasts pretty well , does not crease or seep into fine lines. For a drugstore concealer, I think it's pretty good.

I've always been curious about this concealer. I might take a closer look at this next time I go to a drustore- I think the coloring might work alright for me. Thanks!

I heard this concealer works well. I found a better color match in Maybelline Age Rewind.

Do you think it has good coverage for concealing blemishes?

I just got the new L'Oreal true match concealer which seems to be something like this one - comes in a lot of different colours though so you might find a better match in it!

Best, Lisamarie

It definately sounds like a good concealer. Unfortunately, us folk in the UK get none of the good stuff from Revlon. :( xx
