Review: Benefit Feelin' Cheeky Mini Set

If you're looking to try out some Benefit cheek stain products, but don't want to pay the hefty price, the "Feelin' Cheeky" Mini Set is really cute to pick up. I sound like an ad don't I? Seriously though, Benefit is pricey and some of the products that I've purchased from them, I haven't been crazy about (ie boxed blushes) and regretted paying so much, this set is available exclusively at Sephora (notice the sticker?) for $15US/$18 CAD and allows you to try out the products before committing to the full size (full sizes are $28US/36CAD each).

Inside the little box, you get these adorable mini bottles of Posietint, High Beam and Benetint. Each comes with 4.0ml/0.13oz, compared to the full size which gets you 14ml/0.40oz. Personally, I love sample sized anything, I have so many beauty products that I never finish a bottle of anything, so minis are totally fine by me, I wish more items came in small sizes!

Here is the ingredients list, I've noticed people asking me for this lately, so you can zoom in and check that out.
And here is what they look like, just like the full sized bottles, the applicator is like a nail polish applicator. I find that High Beam is quite thick, whereas the other two are thin and watery, Benetint is very watery, resembling food colouring. You just paint a bit on your cheeks and rub it in for a soft flush look, or with the High Beam a bit of a illuminating glow.

Here is what they look like in my hand, they are quite small, good for throwing in your purse. If you aren't familiar what these are used for, Posietint is a poppy pink liquid cheek tint that can be used on cheeks and lips. Benetint is a rose cheek tint (also can be used on the lips), I would described it more as a cherry red. High Beam is shimmery pale pink pearly illuminator and complexion enhancer, that can be used to highlight the cheeks and add a glow. Personally, I will get the most wear out of High Beam, Posietint is a nice, natural, soft flush blush colour, Benetint is a bit wild and daring for me and just makes me look goofy and feverish.

And swatched here on my hand, these are weird to work with at first, most of us are probably used to powder blushes as cheek products, but these are a nice alternative.

The key to these is to blend them in quick with your fingers, I left this on my hand for a moment and then blended in slightly to show you girls here. Posietint has issues with blending for sure, you can tell most of the colour is concentrated in the middle and separates. Benetint does mellow out a bit when blended in, but is quite dark. I think High Beam is totally beautiful and it only takes a bit to get that beautiful glow, definitely the winner for me out of the trio. These also last a long time on my skin, after doing this swatch, I had a hard time getting rid of Posietint and Benetint off my skin, it's persistent stuff.

Would I recommend this product? Yes. I love the mini size, it's cheaper and a great way to test out the items before buying full sizes. I personally wouldn't get Benetint in full size, but the other two are pretty.

Have you tried Posietint, Benetint or High Beam?

I have the trio too, but hmm this is weird, because i'm very pale, im talking a shade or two lighter than nc15, and benetint doesnt look nearly as bold on me, gosh I feel like I got ripped off with a watered down benetint because mine is SO sheer and the swatch you have is ten times more opaque than when I've swatched it before. Maybe its just lighting or ammounts of product or something, but benetint has never looked that red on me.

@Anonymous - that's weird... hmm I find it quite saturated and red. My lighting is quite yellow, so it could be that. But ya in person, it's quite red.

If I wasn't on a budget I'd run and get theses! Great review! They seem like a great set to get!

I've totally been eyeing Posietint. It's that "I'm so innocent" flush of color. I have too many things on my wish list though...I wish it were Xmas already, LOL!

I have high beam as a even smaller sample and I love it. I still have a little bit left. I would like to purchase a full size. I am not sure if I would like cheek stains. Good post!

I have all three, and high beam is the only one I reach for. The other two barely get used. I find them hard to blend in before the color stains your cheeks. I prefer benetint, posietint it way too pink sometimes. And careful...they dry even darker than they appear when you first apply it!

I am with you on the mini sizes, I wish more products came in 'travel' or 'sample' sizes too! I love a lot of Benefit's line but I just don't use my benetint or high beam very often.

I love minis, too. But I decided to ditch iquid tints - they're way too messy and troublesome to work with. I've spilled half a bottle of full size Benetint before and it was awful. I prefer cream. For those who love Benetint, Posie & High Beam, this is a great deal!

I've been thinking about trying high beam. It looks so pretty in the pics, I might stop by sephora and try it out! I need a good highlighter.

i know what you mean about Benetint, very bold. Try layering on a light sheer gloss or lipstick(think creamsheen) and it makes a world of difference!
