Review: L'oreal Lash Boosting Serum

l'oreal lash serum
This product really intrigued me when it came out. I have average lashes, they are not very full or long and I always wear mascara. I should also mention that I have never used any sort of lash growth products, this was the first one. It seems kinda vain to me to be spending hundreds of dollars on something that no one but you will notice, that is just my opinion, I know people do it, and if makes you happy that is cool, but for me personally they are just eyelashes! Although I do want nicer ones, so this product from L'oreal was a great option considering it's available readily at drugstore and is reasonably priced. I got this for, I think about $16 cad at Shoppers Drug Mart, I could of waited for a sale or a coupon or whatever, but, at the time it was brand new and I wanted my hands on it! Does it work? Let me tell you..

This product promises to give "fortified, nourished, strengthened lashes with daily use." The instructions say to apply at night to bare lashes, or during the day under your mascara. Using the curve of the soft-touch applicator, sweep serum onto lashes from root to tip, like a mascara. Then glide the applicator tip along the upper lash line, like an eyeliner, allow serum to dry before applying your mascara. For best results, apply twice a day, before applying mascara and again at bedtime. This is ophthalmologist and allergy tested, suitable for those with sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers, not intended for use on the lower lash line. The applicator is a bit weird to get used to, I liked applying it with the brush turned so that the curve is fitted to your lashes, start at the base and run it slowly through your lashes like a comb, and then used the pointy end to dot it across the lash line on the top and bottom. I used this serum primarily at night, when I first started using this, I would get crusty goopy bits on my lashes in the morning from what had dried on. Over time I noticed this stopped, so I think I was applying too much. You can also use this before applying your mascara as a primer, just let it dry first and it works well for that.

I think more than anything, this will condition your lashes, it will make your lashes appear healthier, you will not notice a dramatic change. For me, I noticed after using it for about a month (and I suck at sticking to a routine) I saw less lashes falling out, and more than anything, more lashes on the bottom lashes. It is interesting that they say this is not intended to be used on the lower lash line, since that is where I saw the noticeable changes! My lashes appeared fuller/thicker to me, like there were more in-between lashes, less gaps. I don't think this is something that others will notice on you, but you can definitely notice it yourself. I have read that a lot of girls have noticed results after using it for a month, so keep it up if you are using this. If you stop using this serum, the results will stop too, you will not see long-term results, you need to regularly keep applying this.

The packaging of the product is nice, I like that it is clear, so you can see how much product you have left. This is really good because the serum itself is a clear goo, so it is difficult to tell how much you are applying, all of a sudden your lashes are soaked.

I think this is a great product, I will repurchase it. I am pretty impressed with the results, they are not major, but there are positive differences with my lashes. It met my expectations. The tube is supposed to be good for 6 months, maybe I will try out the double ended mascara/serum type next. You should get this!
