Joe Fresh Fall Nail Polish Swatches and Review

Joe Fresh is a brand exclusive to the Real Canadian Superstore in Canada and their affiliated stores. I love their polishes, I purchased some in the summer and recently they released some new Fall colours, they are perfect and apply like a dream. The ones that I will show you are one-coaters and very vibrant, great for the fall. I picked up Persian Blue, Orchid and Fig (Fig isn't in the fall line, but I included it anyway). They sell for 3 for $10.

Joe Fresh "Fig" is a dusty purple cream, I love colours like this. This resembles several polishes in my collection including OPI Parlez Vous OPI and some others (picture above). This was one coat. I wore this for a few days, it didn't last well through washing dishes, there were minor chips at the tips after the second day, then it was time for a new manicure anyway.

Joe Fresh "Orchid" is a reddish plum purple creme. This one applies like butter with one coat as well. This one is so fall looking, love it.

Joe Fresh "Persian Blue" is definitely the favourite of mine from these three, it is a medium blue leaning to teal creme. This is what I wanted OPI Ski Teal We Drop to look like. As you can tell in the bottle it is very similar to the OPI shade, slightly lighter. This is one coat, opaque totally and gorgeous.

And here is a comparison between the OPI and Joe Fresh, Persian Blue looks slightly lighter than the OPI, but I actually prefer it and it applies better too. My OPI went really thick and lumpy here, not sure why. And for the price, the Joe Fresh is a steal, if you are in Canada I would suggest definitely picking this one up. It was the last one at my Superstore, I lucked out getting it. And we know that Superstore hardly ever restocks their Joe Fresh racks, so if yours is out, it's gonna take some time to get more.

Do you have any of the new Joe Fresh fall polishes?

NOTD: Joe Fresh Powder Blue

joe fresh powder blue
Look at what I finally tracked down! Powder Blue! I think I went to 5 different superstore/zehrs/loblaws stores before I finally found one that had this colour. Superstore, you NEED to restock your makeup!

Anyway, this is a pretty pastel light blue colour. I've got a hankering for blues and greens lately, so this was right up my alley.  This is 3 coats.

Joe Fresh Nail Polish Review and Swatches

Joe Fresh is a Canadian brand that is sold in Real Canadian Superstore, Loblaws and Zehrs. Joe Fresh started as a clothing line, and recently they came out with a makeup line, including fabulous nail polish. The man behind the brand is Joseph Mimran, who is also the designer for Club Monaco. Their clothes are actually really nice, and reasonably priced, I have some of their pieces.

The polishes come in cute small round bottles with white tops. The brush is reminiscent of OPI but shorter. You get 6ml in a bottle, so it's about half the size of an OPI. They sell for $4 each or 3/$10. I've been meaning to get some for a while, but the colours that I want were always sold out. I still can't find the light blue, "Powder Blue" anywhere!!! It's driving me nuts cause it's such a pretty colour.

I picked up 6 bottles recently, as you can see in the above picture. They are all pastel shades, except for Tomato, which is a bright ketchup-y red. There is a fair amount of colours available, you can view them all on their webpage, there are metallics and nudes too. I am more into these colours right now.

joe fresh kiss
Joe Fresh "Kiss" is a purple toned pink. This is two coats, it applied pretty smoothly.

joe fresh pink
Joe Fresh "Pink" is just that, a pretty pink, on the pale side. Very runny and watery, hard to apply, needed three coats.

joe fresh coral
Joe Fresh "Coral" is my favourite from the ones that I got. It's a peachy orange colour, I guess coral it is. This is 2 coats, application was good. This is what I wanted Essie's Tart Deco to be.

joe fresh tomato
Joe Fresh "Tomato" is just that tomato red, bright kinda orange toned red. This was okay, 2 coats. I think this colour may grow on me over time.

joe fresh butter
Joe Fresh "butter" is a pale yellow. This was a problem child to apply, this was 3 coats. It was uber streaky on first coat and got better as  you added but, it was messy. Sorry for the horrible swatch.

joe fresh faded violet
Joe Fresh "Faded Violet" is a pale purple, it's gorgeous. This was 2 coats, application was really good. I think this one similar to OPI's Done out in Deco, but I'd have to compare the two to be sure. This one was hard to find too, always sold out.

I really enjoy these polishes, they are cheap and the packaging is really cute. I really wanted to the mint one and Powder Blue especially, but they are always sold out. I think they really need to do a better job at re-stocking the shelves cause some of these colours are really popular and are always out, I've tried 3 stores now and nothing.

My Blush Collection

So recently I got into blush, never really been into it before. My cheeks naturally flush so I don't need it, but I've been loving peach blushes lately and have a bunch that all pretty much look the same! Blushes are great cause they give you a nice glow and add colour to your face. Thanks for looking!

From Left to Right:
Benefit Dandelion, Physicians Formula Blushing Peach, Joe Fresh Pale Peach
On the MAC palette I've got: Peachykeen, Eversun on the top, then Peaches and Springsheen in pan form in the palette, Dainty next to those two, and Style, Well Dressed and Melba on the bottom.
On the side, I've got ELF blushes in Peachykeen, Tickled Pink and Candid Coral.

Since it's hard to capture the blush colours very well, I will show you some individual pics too...

MAC Dainty
Dainty is my only mineralized blush from MAC. This is a shimmery peachy-pink, it's really smooth and pigmented. Since it's mineralized it is silky, but also you get fallout, so you gotta blend it well. These are really nice, I'd get more of these.
MAC Eversun
This one was limited edition from the Style Warriors collections last year. Eversun is bronzy peach with gold shimmers.

MAC Peachykeen
This looks just like Eversun in the pic, but it is different. Peachykeen was the first MAC blush that I got, it's a peachy coral, probably my darkest peach blush.

MAC Style
Style is a an frosty, orangey peach. I find this one a bit hard to wear. I just got this one recently. I know lots of people love this one, maybe I just need to work with it more.

 MAC Melba
This is my favourite peach blush. Melba is like the matte version of Style, but prettier. It is very pigmented, and very similar to MAC Instant Chic (which came out in the Pret a Papier collection recently)

MAC Well Dressed
Love this one, it's a satin, light pink. It looks great on fair-skinned skintones, perfect for everyday use, and a good starter blush.

Benefit Dandelion
This one looks a lot like MAC's Well Dressed, but maybe a touch more peachy. Benefit has their powders in these square cardboard packaging, which is cute, but not great for travel. Their products are pricey too, this blush was $35 CAD, but keep in mind this is 10g, whereas MAC blushes are only 6g. This doesn't show up on a lot of people, but if you are fair, it definitely will.

MAC Peaches and Springsheen
Peaches is a matte pure peach, it looks just like peaches, which is lovely.
Springsheen is a beautiful, shimmery peachy pink, it gets compared to NARS Orgasm all the time in reviews.

MAC blushes impress me because they make gorgeous colours and they are highly pigmented, long lasting, and blend easily. You just need to dab your brush in 1-2 times and you get a lot of colour payoff. I would recommend MAC blushes to anyone. I am going to depot the ones I have and put them in my palette, and from now on, just buy the pans cause it's cheaper that way ($22 CAD, vs $18.50). I'll keep Dainty and any limited edition, special packaging ones in their packaging of course, and keep those for travel.

Some of the ones that I want to get are MAC Cubic,  Sunbasque and Pinch O' Peach, as well as some bronzing colours like Margin.

What are your favourite blushes? Got any recommendations for me?
