Review: ELF Flawless Finish Foundation

I purchased ELF's Studio Flawless Finish Foundation when it was first released in December, but it quickly made it into the "forgotten products" pile since I buy new foundations all the time and was more excited about those. This foundation retails for $6 on ELF's website, which is a great price, low how ELF keeps their prices low (even though this is one of their priciest products), and with a coupon code you can get this for half price. I was so excited when this came out, it makes you think of HD (because of the name) and the pump is great, packaging is nice, but how does it perform really? I will tell you today.

ELF's Flawless Finish foundation is described as "Achieve a flawless complexion with the silky smooth e.l.f. Foundation. The lightweight and oil-free formula blends in naturally for a beautiful semi-matte finish. Applies easily and lasts all day for radiant looking skin. Provides SPF-15 to protect your skin against sun damage." You will notice that this foundation contains SPF 15 and is oil-free, however you've probably read other reviews or seen youtube videos that prove that this actually is NOT oil-free, check out the ingredients list...

"Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, isododecane, Paraffin Liquid (Mineral Oil), Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Polyglyceryl-4 Isostearate, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Sorbitan Sesquilsostearate, Butylene Glycol, Talc, Dimethicone, Diseardimonium Hectorite, Magnesium Sulfate, Glycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Beeswax, Potassium Sorbate, Propylene Carbonate, Boron Nitride, Barium Sulfate, Caorylyl Glycol. MAY CONTAIN: Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891)"

Does Mineral Oil not count as oil? I am no expert here, but I found that a bit strange, a product that is marketed as being oil-free with oil clearly in the ingredients. Perhaps an ELF rep can get back to me on this.

The packaging is what impressed everyone with this product, it comes in a heavy glass bottle, with a pump and a nice cap, it looks like it's worth more than $6 I think. However, the pump nozzle has failed me already, it often gets stuck and does not dispense product, which means I have to open it up and pour foundation out the old-fashioned way. Another thing to note is this product provides you with 0.8oz, and not the standard 1oz/30ml that you get with most foundation.

I purchased this foundation in the lightest colour, "Porcelain", it is quite yellow and I would say it would suit those in and around NC15 in MAC. The colour match is pretty spot on for me. This foundation comes in 6 shades, and since the price is cheap, I have seen many reviewers purchase multiple bottles to ensure they have the right colour match. The consistency is thick.

The thing that bothers me most about this product and prevents me from using it is THE SMELL. It smells like men's cologne and soap! And it lingers throughout the day, this does not go away. Also, one pump is more than enough to do your entire face and it's hard to pump out the right amount.

The coverage is pretty good, medium-full, I love the coverage of this. But I do get that mask effect and very dry effect (on my dry skin) if I apply too much. And this does feel heavy on my skin, which I am not a fan of. I love foundation that provide good coverage, but will not walk around with a thick feeling foundation in order to get that.

I would not recommend this for those with dry skin, it does give a somewhat dewy finish, but is very thick and  definitely sticks to dry patches and makes lines look more pronounced. In the picture above you actually see the remnants of the foundation on my hand after I've applied most of it to my face (picture purpose is to show the sheen it gives). This stuff dries quickly too, which isn't good for dry skin (I can't finish blending in time).

So in conclusion, this smells terrible, the pump is defective and it's most certainty not for those with dry skin. It's a good price and a pretty bottle.

Review: ELF Mineral Blush in Coral and Peachy

Today I will be reviewing ELF's mineral blushes in Coral and Peachy. These retail for $5 on the ELF website, but with a coupon code you can get them for even cheaper. These blushes are described as having "no parabens, no preservatives and no chemical dyes." They come in a variety of colours, but I like peaches, so I picked up these two. What you should note right away is now un-coral the Coral shade is (on left above), I was expecting from the name that it would be that..Coral, but it's not, so keep that in mind if you order these. I am glad that I got Peachy because it's what I expected Coral to me and vice versa.

Coral is described on the website as a "peachy coral" wrong! This is a very light peach nothing coral about it. This shade is also out of stock currently, I think there are going to be a lot of disappointed people, I doubt it will show up much unless you are very fair. If you are looking for a coral blush, don't get this cause you will be disappointed.

Peachy is a newly added shade and is described as...there is no description but you can tell for yourself. This colour is really nice and I would definitely recommend it.

These in round plastic container with black tips (resemble bare minerals packaging). They are a far size so you can get your brush in there to tap off the excess.

Here is the inside, it comes with a plastic peeley over the holes, I would suggest only peeling off half of the insert because if you peel off more it will get messy. The holes are pretty large and dispense too much. These are loose blushes of course so they can get messy.

And onto the swatches, I have compared these blushes to two other Studio line ones here. The Peachy mineral blush is nice, but comes off looking a bit terracotta when swatched. The Coral shade is very light and close to my skin colour. The Coral is completely matte while the Peachy has minor shimmer to it. I find Peachy to be very pigmented too. The two studio line blushes to the right are Candid Coral and Tickled Pink for comparison purposes, I have Peachykeen somewhere too, but couldn't find it, sorry.

Review: ELF Studio Glitter 11 Brush Collection

A girl can never have enough makeup brush, well this one can't. ELF recently came out with a limited edition version of their Studio 11 piece brush collection, with glitter handles! The brushes are the exact same, but they have glitter on them, and who doesn't love glitter? This sells for $30 on the ELF website, but with a 50% off coupon code (they have promotions all the time), you can get them for $15, which is what I did. You get all the Studio line brushes in a sleek, black zippered case. Each brush would normally cost you $3.

Here is what the handles look like, I think it's cute, whereas the original ones come with plain black handles. I wanted to get another Studio Powder brush, so I just opted to get this entire set instead. The zippered pouch that comes with these fits the brushes nicely and is flat and portable.

The glitter collection comes with 5 face brushes (as shown above) and 6 eye brushes. The face brushes include (from top-down) the fan brush, angled foundation brush, blush brush, complexion brush and powder brush. I've only ever owned the last 3, but I tend to think the blush and complexion is a bit fuller and softer in this set (keep in mind I purchased my original ones years ago). The powder brush, I can't say enough about, if you don't have it yet, you need it.

And here are the 5 eye brushes that include (from top-down) small smudge brush, small precision brush, small angled brush, concealer brush, contour brush, and eyeshadow "c" brush. I guess the concealer brush should of been in the face part in my review, but I actually prefer this brush for applying paint pots on my eyes so it's here instead. All these brushes are made of synthetic fibers, which personally I think is the downfall to the eye brushes, I feel that natural hairs pick up eyeshadow better.

This is a nice set if you are on a budget, I am more of a fan of the face brushes than the eye brushes from ELF, for eyes I would suggest the $1 eyeshadow brush and $1 eye blending brush, which both are favourites of mine. If you like glitter handles, I would definitely pick this up.

Do you have the ELF glitter brush set? What is your experience with ELF brushes?

Review: Almay Wake Up Hydrating Makeup Powder

Since I have dry/dehydrated skin, I find it very difficult to find a powder that goes not emphasize my dry areas and more often than not, I do not "set" my makeup with powder for this reason. Powders make me look ashy or like I am wearing caked on powder basically, and that's not a pretty look. Some even cause my skin to itch and feel tight. Almay's Hydrating Makeup does not do that, it has this awesome cooling, wet feeling that I really enjoy and is unlike any other powder I've ever used. This product is identical to the Revlon Colorstay Aqua Mineral makeup (they came out at the same time), but for a bit less money, hence why I chose this one.

Review: ELF Studio Complete Coverage Concealer

Today's review is the ELF Complete Coverage Concealer from their Studio Line. This retails for $3 and is one of their newest products. ELF describes this product as "the perfect blend of colors to keep you "covered" throughout the year for when your skin is lighter in the winter and darker in the summer. The highly pigmented formula is easy to blend for customizable coverage. Use to disguise blemishes, dark circles and uneven skin tone for a flawless look."  Does it give complete coverage? keep reading to find out!

This comes in the sleek black ELF Studio line packaging, you get four colours inside, a mirror and small applicator brush (picture above). The brush is tiny, like the size of my pinky finger nail. The concealer comes in three shades: Light, Medium and Dark. What I like about this product is the fact that you get 4 shades, they are similar but different enough that you know at least one will match your skin perfectly. I know I've bought concealers in the past and they have been too light and too dark. With this product, you can also mix the concealers to get your perfect shade.

A closer look at the palette here you can tell these are quite creamy, when I leave this in a warm place I notice beads of water/moisture/oil will build up on the top. I like removing the little plastic film that comes inside, that may be causing this to happen too. I have this in the colour "Light" which is supposed to suit fair to light skintones.

Looking at the palette alone, the colours seem to look very similar but notice in the picture above and in my swatch here, they are fairly different. The two on the left are very similar, one has more pink, one has more yellow undertones. I like the third from the left the most, it's kinda that salmon shade which I like for under the eyes. While the last, four from the left is very yellow. I find I use the salmon one the most.

And here are the swatches blended in a bit. As you can tell the concealer is still visible. I find the downside of this product is that because they are so creamy and thin, I don't think they would conceal very well and will not give that "complete coverage" as the name states. I prefer a thicker, waterier texture for my concealer. If you are looking for light concealing and have normal skin, I think this is a good product. Also if you are just starting out with concealer, it's great because you do get 4 colours.

Review: ELF Studo Tinted Moisturizer

ELF recently came out with a new Tinted Moisturizer in their Studio line. When seeing the packaging, I thought it looked exactly like Smashbox's Tinted Moisturizer. But seeing it now, I think Smashbox's more stubby. I can't comment on the quality of that one versus this because I have not used the other one. I am a fan of tinted moisturizer, or so I am a fan of the skin matching makeup like the Revlon and the Almay one, they offer natural coverage on days you don't need a lot and feel comfortable on. I thought this ELF one would perform a similar way. This product is described as a "lightweight and hydrating formula, breathable and provides anti-aging sun protection with UVA/UVB SPF 20. Achieve even skin tone and naturally radiant skin with this moisturizing sheer tint of color. The smooth formula enhances your complexion with the nourishing key ingredients Aloe, Cucumber and Vitamins A, C & E."

The packaging is similar to that of the Almay/Revlon skin matching products. However the ELF comes with 20ml, while the other has 30ml. And that brings me to my first issue with this product, it may say 20ml on the bottle but I have my suspicions about whether you actually get that much. My tube feels 1/3 filled when you shake it. I know this product is only $3, but still I expected something more. Also, the back of the tube is just black with nothing on it at all, it would of been good if they added ingredients on the back (list does come on the box however).

This product comes in 7 shades, I bought the lightest one in "Porcelain". On the package it states this colour is for "very fair skin tones with yellow undertones". I would say this would definitely not suit very fair skintones, this stuff is very yellow and not very light at all. If you have strong yellow undertones, this might work for you, if you are neutral or cool, definitely will not. The next shade up is much darker, so it's a no go for me.

The coverage on this is very light, and it has a sheen when first applies (as seen in my terribly focused picture above), but it does try semi-matte. I would use a powder to set this for sure. The consistency is like a mousse. I find this product very hard to blend. The worst part of this product for me is the wretched smell! This smells of sunscreen, very strongly of it. I have a hard time keeping this on my face, every time I used this, I wanted to take it off immediately. Also, it separates very easily, you can see that in the little window on the tube. You have to shake it up well, and when you do shake it, it doesn't feel like there is anything in the tube. I think it's obvious I do not like this product, I would be curious to read what others think, there hasn't been much talk about this product yet since it is fairly new.

Monthly Favourites: November 2010

I am super late getting this one, I am usually pretty good about getting these on time, but several things have kept me from not posting lately. 1) I moved and am busy unpacking and getting everything together 2) I couldn't find my camera for the longest time 3) Now that I have found it, the thing has a mind of its own and won't focus well on pictures anymore (as you will notice in the picture below). Time for a new camera, maybe Santa will bring me one this Christmas. My favourites this month are some old and some new items.

Maybelline's Dream Smooth Mousse may be my favourite drugstore foundation of the year. This product is great for the winter when your skin is dry (mine is extra dry). It gives good coverage, and feels smooth on your face, see full review here.

Sigma's F10 Powder/Blush brush which is supposedly a dupe for the MAC 129. I find this a bit large for blush, but I do like it for finishing powder, bronzer, powder in general. it's soft and fluffy. Sigma should make a MAC 116 dupe.

Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion was not a favourite of mine at first, in fact I found it very similar to the original Last Blast, see review here. But since throwing out my overly-expired Lash Blast I have started using up this one this month and like it a lot.

MAC's Creme D'Nude is probably my most favourite MAC lipstick ever, and it has a special place in my heart because it was my first MAC purchase ever. This colour works well on anyone, has great formulation and a pretty colour.

ELF's Lipstain in Birthday Suit has been my go-to gloss for the month. I don't think of this as a stain really, and only use the coloured end, but I do like the light barbie pink colour that the gloss gives.

Clinique's Redness Solutions makeup is a great foundation. I picked this in the month of November and really like it. It's the first Clinique foundation I've ever used. Does it help tone down redness over time? I haven't used it exclusively enough to tell a difference, but I like the coverage and neutralizing effects that it has. Planning to do a full review of this one soon.

What were your favourites for the month of November?

November Haul

Just a sneak peek at the items that I purchased last month and got in the mail recently. We don't have mail set up at our new place yet (the building isn't even finished yet and we are one of few people that live there). So we have to go way the heck to the other side of town to some mail depot to pick anything up, huge hassle. Anyways, I have goodies here from ELF, Essie, Sigma, Rock and Republic and Bare Escentuals. I will do full reviews soon once I try the stuff out some more, but I will add a short first impressions here too.

ELF:
Flawless Finish Foundation in Porcelain - Smells like men's cologne and soap. I bought some bedding from Homesense recently and had to return them because they had a huge stain on them which smelled of cologne, this smell reminds me of that, not pretty and congures up the image every time I use it. Packaging is nice, pump is great. Colour is a tad light for me, but the next shade up would be way too dark.

Complete Coverage Concealer - Nice packaging, I have it in the lightest colour, "Light". The four colours in here look very similar though, not sure why they didn't use some variation. Consistency is creamy, covers okay, definitely sets into lines, creases though.

Tinted Moisturizer - I have this in the lightest too, "Porcelain", very yellow undertones in this. I have read others on facebook mention this too, but the tube feels 1/3 full, not sure if this was a random thing, or if they are all like this, be weary, haven't used it on my face yet, found not recommend this.

Essie:
Fall 2010 Collection - Beautiful fall colours, haven't worn it yet, but will wear the red one to a Christmas work party tonight. I am happy to have Sew Psyched and Merino Cool in here.

Sigma:
F05 Small Contour Brush - Tried using this with the ELF foundation yesterday, not crazy about it for that product. My MAC one is definitely more round. I will do comparison review soon.

F82 Angled Top Brush - Like all the Sigmax brushes, this is incredibly soft and full, like it a lot for contouring.

Rock and Republic:
Tease - Purple pink colour, very cool. Pigmentation is lovely.
Immoral -  Bright almost totally orange blush. I am loving this and curious how it will work on my skin. Just a note, I paid $18.50 CAD duty on these upon delivery, so watch out if you are international.

Bare Escentuals:
5 Brush Set - I was under the impression that these were horrible, scratchy brushes, but I really wanted the Maximum Coverage Concealer brush and these were only $20 altogether on The Shopping Channel Canada, and I had a $10 gift card, so I had to get them. But surprise, I really like them. They aren't as soft, but I think will deposit product very well.

And that's it... hopefully you will hear from me more now that I have found my camera!

Friday Faves: What's Your Favorite Way To Apply Liquid Foundation?

Last week I asked you girls what your favorite foundation was, today I am asking you what your favorite way to apply liquid foundation is? Having a good foundation is one thing, knowing how to best apply it to suit your skin is another issue. I know people use all sorts of methods and I will go over them today and tell you what I like best. Some methods include using brushes such as a traditional flat foundation brush, a flat top brush, or stippling brush. Using sponges such as a beauty blender or cosmetic wedge. And lastly, using your hands. Those are the ways that I can think of.

Traditional foundation brush - I don't reach for this brush to apply foundation hardly ever. I feel like I am painting my face. But I know whenever I go to a makeup counter and they apply foundation on me, it is always with this type of brush. I find it can get streaky this way.

Flat top foundation brush - This is my favourite type of brush to use, I love the ELF Powder brush because it's quite wide so you can cover a large area of your face and pack this on quickly. Also for me I don't tend to blend with this type of brush but more just pat it on and I am done. I get great coverage and it applies evenly. The Sigma F80 can function the same way. Another brush is the MAC 109, it's sorta flat but also rounded, I use this method sometimes as well, for the same purpose, tapping or pouncing the foundation on.

Stippling brush - This method can give the most "flawless" application because you are basically stippling foundation on, and then blending if needed. It is time consuming however. I have been using this method more and more lately, but I only stipple no blending anymore, however I prefer the flat top method over this.

Blending sponge - This year especially many companies have put out beauty blender type sponges for applying foundation. The sponge is soaked in water and it expands to twice the size and can give very precise application of liquid foundation. The sponge is washed and used again and again. I have the Sonia Kashuk verison here. I very very rarely use this method because I am not very good at it and prefer using my brushes.

Cosmetic wedge - Some products include their own sponges inside, most of the time these are useless because they can only be used a limited number of times. However it can give a nice looking finish as well. Wedges can also be purchased at dollar stores or drugstores (I have packs of them).

Recently, I watched a youtube video from the fabulous "gossmakeupartist" where he goes over how we need to wet our sponges when applying makeup. How it will sheer out your foundation, and not give you that cakey look that everyone hates. It makes your foundation a lot easier to work with and you can layer it much easier. Wetting your sponge does not allow the foundation to settle into the sponge either, so you aren't wasting product.

What interested me most was how he said that those with dry (me) or combination skin have areas of the face where the skin feels textured and rough, if we use a stippling brush and blend we are basically "micro-exfoliating" our faces! That made total sense to me, after watching that, I no longer blend my foundation in anymore, if I need to I do so with my hands. Similarly, when you powder your face afterwards to set your face, you are "micro-exfoliating" again and disturbing your face, instead we should be using a powder puff and pressing the powder into our skin instead.

I think his advice is genius if you have this type of skin and have issues. I know I definitely do and this has helped me so much. Makeup brushes are fun to collect and make you feel all professional when using them, but sometimes they may not be the best option for you, and a simple thing like a sponge can make a lot more sense. For me, the stippling method works the best, no more blending!

What is your favorite way to apply liquid foundation?

ELF Cosmetics: New Liquid Foundation With a Pump Sneak Peek

I just caught the buzz of this new announcement on ELF Cosmetics Facebook Page. They are close to coming out with their first liquid foundation! And here is a sneak peek of the product.

As you can tell it contains SPF 15, and it's oil-free and it's supposed to give a "flawless finish". But the best part is the packaging.. look at how gorgeous it looks,  I am totally excited for this product. It has a pump! A nice pump, the kind of pump you would see on MAC's Studio Fix Fluid. I hope it functions well though and if not, you could always move this over to other foundation bottles that don't have a pump now (if it fits that is). The colour selection, I have no idea, but judging by the picture of 5 shades, it may be difficult to find your match. I am wondering if this will be $3, although I doubt it, probably $6 considering some of the studio line stuff are that much. But it doesn't matter, it will be cheap regardless and I will totally try it. Can't wait until it's available.

What do you girls think of this?

Review: ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer Vs Urban Decay Primer Potion

I love my Urban Decay Primer Potion (UDPP), but recently my one in Sin cracked on the bottom. This is the result of it rolling off the site of my bathroom counter and falling on the floor too many times. The packaging of the UDPP is cute, but not practical, since mine broke! and it was only like 25% finished, it was a product I used everyday and now I have to find a way to depot it or continue to have it ooze out of the bottom. So while that one has been on standby, I have been reaching for my neglected ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer. I used this when I first got it and then reverted back to other primers. Today I will be comparing the ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer to the original Urban Decay Primer Potion.

ELF's Mineral Eyeshadow Primer (not to be confused with the "eyelid primer" which is $1) retails for only $3 on the ELF website and it rivals the cult favourite Urban Decay Primer Potion. Mine fell apart after a few uses, the cap unglued from the lid, it sucks, but it doesn't change the performance of the product at all. This product serves the same purpose as the UDPP, you put in on your eyelids and it acts as a base for your eyeshadow, keeping it in place and from creasing all day. You get about half as much product in the ELF primer than you do in the UDPP, but more than half the price (for the same size equivalent). The texture is a bit different, but I think the product is very comparable.

Both products have a doe-foot applicator. The new UDPP has a slanted one, mine is really old. As you can tell the UDPP is more opaque and will do a better job at neutralizing the eye area (taking away darkness and appearance of veins) because it is more pinky salmon coloured. The ELF is also thinner and waterier in consistency, while the UDPP is thick and more dry. I find the UDPP easier to apply because it is thicker, I feel like it covers quicker. My swatches are not straight out of the bottle, hence why they have dried on my arm, it takes a while to take proper pictures sometimes.

Now the important part, the performance! Does the ELF primer work as well as the UDPP? I put the UDPP on one eye and the ELF on the other and wore it around all day. Above is the final result after wearing it for 12 hours or so. The difference is very minor, if you look objectively (click to zoom picture) the ELF side is faded and less vibrant. The UDPP side is shinier and prettier. But neither one has creased. I used Rimmel's Smokey Brun quad here for the look, I wanted to use some cheap eyeshadow to really show any variation. I find with MAC shadows they always look good, regardless of what primer you use.

So for the purpose of "does it perform the same way?", I think the ELF Primer does a fine job. I think for $3 it's a really good buy if you are on a budget. If you used high quality eyeshadow you would not notice the difference between this and UDPP. Urban Decay has started to package their primer in better packaging recently, I am not sure if this is permanent though, many people dislike the UDPP packaging, as do I and should really be buying Too Faced shadow insurance instead, the ELF primer falls into the same problem, the package isn't great, but the product is totally fine.

Have you tried the ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer? How did you find it?

Review: ELF Mineral Brushes

ELF recently came out with a new line of makeup brushes, these being their mineral brushes. There are 12 different brushes, all for $5 a piece. However, you can get them for less than that, just use a coupon code, there are many available at once, best you could get 50% off mineral products and only pay $2.50 a brush. I was really excited about these brushes when they first came out, but only picked up 3 because I have TONS of brushes and primarily bought these to test them out. I picked up the powder, complexion and angled blush brush. I am a huge fan of ELF products, I've bought from them dozens of times, and this is just my honest opinion of these brushes.

Every brush in this line comes with 100% animal-free taklon bristles, recycled ferrule and sustainable bamboo handles. The bristles are quite thin and light yellow (will get dirty easily). I like this design, I think it's very Ecotools-esque, down to the brush sets with pouches. The pictures of these brushes on the website are deceiving however, especially the blush brush picture, it looks nothing like the brush, which disappointed me. The brushes came in nice plastic cases with a plastic cover on each brush, click here when I first got them. They smelled like a paint store when I got them, I washed them several times since then and it went away.

First up is the Mineral Powder brush, this is a giant ogre of a brush, compared to the Ecotools and even the Sigma F30 brush. It is also very thin and floppy, it's hard to show this without doing a video or something but you can take my word for it. This brush would only be good for loose finishing powder application in my opinion (and I have lots of brushes that already serve that function). This brush disappointed me the most of the trio that I got. It is very soft but kinda useless for me.

Next we have the ELF Mineral Angled Blush brush, I know on the website it says 'angled', but judging by the image on the ELF website (image above), I thought this brush would look completely different! It's quite small and very thin as well, compared to the Sigma F40, which is very soft and quite dense. I do not see myself using this brush very much, another disappointment.

Lastly, the ELF Complexion brush, I have better news with this one! This brush is very similar to the original ELF Studio line Complexion brush (left of it) however it is slightly more rounded paddle shape. This brush can be used for powder application, contouring and bronzer. It is still on the big side, next to the Ecotools blush brush (favourite of mine) it is much larger. However, this brush is do-able, if you don't already have the Studio line brush.

Comparing these brushes, what I did notice is how much better my Sigma Makeup brushes are, they are full and soft when I sweep them on my face compared to the ELF brushes.

I hope this helps you guys. I know everyone has different preferences but I just personally did not favour these very much. I knew it right when I first got them, and after attempting to use and adjust to them, they just aren't for me. These brushes are soft, and I appreciate their environmentally-friendly nature, but they do not perform very well because they bristles are so thin and floppy. Sorry ELF.

I am curious to know what you guys thought of these, leave me your opinions below!

ELF Cosmetics: New Products Announced Today

ELF Cosmetics introduced a ton of new products on their website today. I will go over all the new items here briefly and tell you what I think of them initially. All pictures were taken directly from the ELF Cosmetics
website.

I think this set is great, it comes with all the Studio Line brushes (minus the new one) and has glitter on the handles! Plus it comes in a pouch which is great for travel. I love the Studio Powder brush that comes in this, it's one that I use almost everyday. With a coupon code, such as 50% off, this would be a really great buy.

This is a makeup setter spray containing Aloe, Green Tea, Cucumber, Vitamin A, C and E. I guess this is ELF's affordable attempt at MAC's Fix+. It seems interesting, and $3 is cheap for this, as long as it doesn't smell rancid, this could be good.

The new studio cream eyeshadows come in a little pot and in four colours. These come in two types, what looks like shimmer (cream) and then matte, the matte ones have a lot more colour selection. The cream ones are currently out of stock.

This is an all over the body golden glow powder with shimmers. It comes packaged liked the HD powder with a puff and only comes in one shade. Not really interested in this at all.

A new addition to the Studio Line eyeshadow brushes, this one is made of taklon anti-bacterial bristles and has that slanted shape which is great for contouring the eye. I like the look of this, but I have several brushes already with this shape too.

I couldn't get a clearer picture of this one, when you click on the brow brush, it takes you to a picture of the contour brush! This brush doesn't look any different than the brow brush that comes in the regular or mineral line. Pass on this, I don't use brow brushes anyhow.

I am excited to see how well made this brush is, it could be a flop as I have seen many dupes for this type of brush and they have been on the floppy side and unusable. But definitely curious.

ELF has added a tinted moisturizer to their line, which is great. This is described as lightweight and hydrating, even skin tone with a hint of colour and sun protection. This is the product I was most excited about, however it's sold out at the moment too.
These are disposable applicators for lipgloss, it comes in a pack of 12. I think this is interesting for on the go or to throw in your purse, but I doubt I will be buying this. Not a fan of one-use product that you throw away after use.

Another one of those disposable type applicators, this one is for eyeshadow application. These come in a pack of 12 as well.
