Nude Lipstick Comparisons Review

nude lipstick comparison
This was a request from one of my readers to do a nude lipstick comparison review, a n n i e, thanks for the suggestion!

Who doesn't love a nude lip? It is pretty much a basic makeup item in any girl's makeup bag. I have severel nude lipsticks, if there is a new one out, I usually pick it up. Actually, my first MAC purchase ever was the MAC Creme d'nude lipstick and it's still a favourite of mine from all the nudes I have. It smells amazing, is lovely to apply and the colour is fabulous. Nude is great for an everyday look, and to blank out your lips (if they are too pigmented normally). Judging from the picture above, they all look kind of the same, but there are variations I promise, and I will show you swatches below..

My Nail Polish Collection (as of June 4, 2010)

This was requested from a follower of mine... eleventhofapril... :D

I started collecting actively a year ago or so, I bought the odd polish here and there earlier, but it has been an obsession for about that long. Once I found nail etailers like Transdesign and Amazon ones too, the stash grew steadily. I need better organization for sure and am still working out how to store all my babies. How do you store yours?

I tried to categorize these into colour groups, thought that would be easiest, but as I went along, I saw that some should of been added to other piles and so on. You can click on the image to enlarge it.

Also, my OPI Pamplona Purple rolled off the bed and smashed into pieces on the floor, so that sucked.. these bottles are not very thick, the smashing sound was pretty good too, so RIP Pamplona Purple :(.

Blues:
blue nail polish collection
(whoops reverse the labels om OPI no room for the blues and Suzy says feng shui pleasee!)

Teals:
 teal nail polish collection
(that should read CG blue sparrow and sexy in the city, not SH)

Light Purples:
purple nail polish collection
(ignore the dark purple on the bottom, it shouldn't be there and thus not labelled)

Peaches:

Yellows:

Berry:

Pinks:

Corals:

Greens/Mint:

Taupes/Mauve:

Browns/Gray:

Purples:

Reddy Purples:

Glitters:

Golds:

Darks:
(on far right, is orly Goth, not CG)

Neutrals:
neutral nail polish collection

Reds:
nail polish collection reds
(the last two on the top, shouldn't be in this group!)

Plums:
nail polish collection plums
(my biggest category I think, I love my plums)

That took ages to put together.. that's like 98% of my polishes, I think I may have forgotten a couple. Also it was my first time using Gimp for imac so I had some issues getting this together. I count..223! Eek.

You know you are polish-obsessed when:
- You see a new OPI/China Glaze/Essie colour and immediately can think of 3-4 colours already in your collection that look just like that one.
- You look forward to new collections and seek out swatches online constantly.
- There are always upcoming packages that you are waiting for in the mail.
- You don't know where to put it all
- You have "backups" or accidental multiples of the same colour.

GOSH Velvet Touch Foundation Primer

GOSH is a danish brand that is sold at SDM in Canada. It is pricey, but they have some nice products, one of which is their "Darling" lipstick, which is a beautiful everyday nude shade, should be a staple for any nude lipstick lover. Anyway... recently I got a $10 gift card from a SDM promo for spending $50 in store, and I used it on the Gosh Velvet Touch Foundation Primer during a 40% off sale. It ended up costing me $5.xx pretty awesome deal I think.

This primer retails for around $23 cad. It is 30ml, same size as the MAC Prep and Prime, which I also use. When you first put it on it feels like silk, or velvet as the name implies. This primer is like a clear, colourless matte goo, not like the white glittery stuff that p&p is. It feels really nice on your skin, it is easy to use too much, you only need a little bit, so be careful to not pump too much out of the bottle, one pump is enough for me. It covers your face evenly and smoothly. It leaves your skin feels very soft and slippery, but not wet, just really glidey. I wait a few moments to let it settle (it absorbs quickly) and then apply my foundation. It totally makes my foundation application much easier and makes my skin looks 100x better, no dry patches and my foundation seems to cover better too. I would totally recommend this product to anyone.
