Canadian Testers: L’oreal Canada Go 360 Clean

Loreal is giving out free samples of their Go 360 Clean with the scrublet. I am really intrigued by this product, if you have noticed the commercials about it, it looks really cool, you pour the cleanser on the scrublet, which comes attached to the product, if I don’t like the product itself, I can always use the scrublet with other cleansers.

Quantities are limited, so sign up quickly! This is indicated to be a sample size product. It will ask you what skin type you are on the survey to offer you the correct product. Good luck everyone!

MAC Viva Gaga and Blooming Lovely

MAC recently came out with two new lipsticks for their VIVA Glam collection. All proceeds go to the MAC Aids Fund. The two new lipsticks were Viva Glam Cyndi (for Cyndi Lauper) and Viva Glam Gaga (for Lady Gaga). The gaga one attracted me right away since it's a cool blue-pink colour. I didn't order it right away, and so I had to wait a while before it was in stock again. When it was in stock, I got two! I never buy backups of anything, but in this case I thought it was very necessary!

Here they are in their boxes, Blooming Lovely in its Liberty of London packaging and the two Gaga's below.

Look at my pretties! the Blooming Lovely is very unique, MAC describes it as a "lilac mauve". I just looked at it's sold out on the mac cosmetics canada website! eek good thing I got it. Viva Gaga is a pale cool pink, I love colours like this and will definitely be getting more of this type of colour. I recommend everyone to get Gaga, it goes towards a good cause and is lovely.

Studio Line Blush in Peachykeen
Studio Line Eyeshadow in Raspberry Truffle, Coffee Bean and Wild Wheat
Studio Line Minty Lip Gloss in Los Angeles (pink) and New York City (red, I didn't think it would be soo red)

And here are the swatches of the blush and eyeshadows

This blush is very light, the lighest of the three that I own from ELF, it also is frosty like. Raspberry Truffle is very, very nice.

Swatches of lipglosses coming soon....

Walmart Haul: Sally Hansen Complete Salon, Rimmel VolumeFlash and L'oreal HIP

I had a gift card for Walmart that I got for my birthday. So I picked  up a couple of things yesterday.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon in Commander in Chic, Gray by Gray and Fairy Teal. Rimmel VolumeFlash Mascara and L'oreal Metallic Hip shadow in Sculpted (these are expensive, even at WM, like $8.50!)

And a quick swatch of the Sculpted shadow:
Umm... the pink side looks like a lot more reddish in person, the purple looks pretty good, it has little red shimmers, maybe a MAC Beauty Marked dupe?

Revlon: Day Dreamer Spring 2010 Collection

Revlon has a new collection out called "Day Dreamer" as part of their Spring 2010 collection. In it come 4 nail polishes, all pastel shades including a mint green, peach, pastel purple and a light tan colour. Also there are 5 lipglosses, which look soo good and pigmented (I have seen swatches on many blogs) and an eyeshadow quad (pass on that, didn't like the colours).

So my Pharma Plus had these! And the polishes were only $3.99 each (coupon in flyer booklet this week) and the lipglosses were $3 off as well (coupon in booklet again). So I picked up 3 of the polishes and one of the lipglosses, there was only 1 of the shades left and I grabbed the last one!

Revlon Lipgloss in Pink Pop, Revlon Nail Polish in Minted, Lilac Pastelle and Peach Petal.

I am loving all the pastel colours, and kudos to Revlon for making a mint green finally, even if they were kinda late ;)

FOTD: YDK and Twice Baked

It's my first FOTD, and ya it's not my whole face lol, my mouth is all deformed and I don't want to show it..  just kidding. Anyway, maybe you'll get the rest of me later.

So here are the products that I used:

FACE
- Elf Mineral Face Primer
- MAC Studio Sculpt in NW15
- MAC Studio Fix Powder NW20
- MAC Dainty Blush

EYES
- Elf Eyebrow Kit in Light
- Urban Decay Primer Potion
- MAC Bare Study Paint Pot
- Urban Decay in YDK on lid
- Urban Decay in Twice Baked in crease
- Lancome Courbe Virtuose

I gotta say those lashes are looking hella long there... I am always complaining that they are so short and thin, but there they look bam! I guess that L'oreal lash serum may be working.

The varying shades of "light" foundation

Foundation to me is the beginning for your makeup, you need to get it right, and it needs to feel good on. But most importantly, it has to match your face!!

I have gone through so many different foundations, so I have decided to show you how much fair-light foundation colours can vary amongst companies. You'd think light-fair would all good similar? but the tones of foundation can really bring out the yellow, brown and pink tones and make it very difficult to find the right foundation match for yourself. I know this pain because I have gone through it myself. Honestly, I still am not sure which foundation looks right on me, I do not like looking too pink and I think my face has yellow tones in it, so I tend to go towards the NC shades in MAC foundation. My main problem with drugstore foundations, even in the lightest colours, are often times, not light enough. It seems like drugstore brands do not cater at all to lighter skinned girls, there always seems to be a lot of medium skinned colours, and no variety at all for the light. I would rather buy a foundation that is too light, and darken it up with bronzer or something than too dark.

Above left to right:

1. MAC Studio Fix Fluid NC15 - I applied this a bit heavily, but you get the idea, it is quite yellow, but once it's on my face, I like how it looks, doesn't look yellow to me.

2. MAC Mineralize Satinfinish NC15 - This is lighter than SFF, but it does dry on a lot sheerer, so it is fine on my skin.

3. MAC Studio Sculpt NW15 - I got the NW in this because the NC was really light, this one is more peachy than the two previous, coverage is really good with this one too. I should of blended this one out more, but it's a gel so you gotta work with it.

4. Revlon Colorstay in Ivory- Revlon's foundations fair very well in reviews, but I had a super hard time with their shade selections, Ivory is in my opinion too pink and too light. It seems to blend in well in this picture, but makes me look too pink in person.

5. Revlon Colorstay in Buff - This one was too dark, I found no happy medium for myself in Colorstay, I suppose if I mix the two I may get something more tolerable.

6. Revlon Age Defying Spa in Fair-Light - This is what you call Fair-Light Revlon?? Really? Really? C'mon. This is the darkest on this entire picture, it is orange-brown! I love the idea of this foundation, it has that brush right in the product and is light feeling, but the colour is bad bad bad. It actually does come in 001 Fair, but in Canada, we do not have this shade, so this foundation was a fail for me. :(

7. Revlon Photo Ready in Vanilla - Really happy with this colour, it is really close to my beloved Studio Fix Fluid, this is second lightest shade in Photo Ready.

8. Maybelline Superstay in Porcelain - Another super fail! This is pink! And when it dries on the corners, it almost looks red! This is the lighest shade available in this foundation! OMG!!

Onto some more...

left to right

1. L'oreal True Match W2 Light Ivory - I gotta give props to L'oreal, the True Match has so many shades that you can definitely find your right colour. I haven't experienced too much with their foundation, but I really should. I like this colour on me, it's that yellow light that I like.

2. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind in Classic Ivory - This is light 2, I should of probably gone with Light 1. This foundation is really good though, I should really pick it up again, when foundation read "classic ivory" they are usually a dirtier version of ivory.

3. Maybelline Pure Makeup in Classic Ivory - This is light 2 once again, it is a lot pinker than Age Rewind, same colour, but looks totally different. Why can't drugstores make it easier for us and make the colours the same in different formulations? I don't get it.

4. Rimmel Stay Matte in 100 Ivory - I really wanted to like this one, but the colour is all wrong for me, too dark and this is the lightest colour in this foundation as well,  it's unfortunate.

5. Rimmel Lasting Finish in 100 Ivory - Major fail! I swatched this in the store and thought, oh this is the lighest shade it must work.. no it doesn't! at all! This is brown, this is what I would call Sand! Rimmel and I do not fair well in foundations.

So there you  have it... those are most of my liquid foundations, most of these I never wear. I most enjoy MAC foundations because when I buy them, I pretty much know what the colour is going to look like and there is no horrible surprise (ie Rimmel). Please keep in mind these are just swatches on my arm, no base underneath, I didn't let it sit and ozidize or anything, didn't blend them in very much so it looks the way it does if you were to swatch it in a store. It's crazy how different they all look, isn't it?

Enzo Milano Clipless Curling Iron

I've been wanting to get this conical wand forever, but couldn't find it in stores anywhere. I had lots of gift card money saved up from swagbucks, so I ordered this Enzo Milano clipless curling iron from amazon.com. The first order got cancelled because they were out of stock. Ordering from amazon.com and being in Canada is really difficult because like nothing ships to Canada, I tried a bunch of different makeup and nothing would ship. This order came from California, and I got it in a week! I was really pleased. I just got it today, so I haven't used it yet, I will write a review soon. I like it though, it's pink and it came with a heat-resistant glove too.

MAC Liberty of London!

MAC's Give me Liberty of London collection came out recently. I was pretty excited about this collection because packaging is a big thing for me, and the packaging on this stuff was so cute. With all the glooming weather we'd had lately (I live in Canada), this collection was like a breath of fresh air, like birds chirping outside my window in the morning. I wasn't sure what I was going to get at first, but decided the packging was soo cute on the beauty powders and went with the two that came in this collection.

Here are some pictures of the packaging...
The packaging looks like a partial coloured in colouring book to me, the birds look kinda freaky I must say. I will definitely keep the boxes.

Here is the inside of the box, it has that flower design that came on the tops of the eyshadow pots in this collection.

Here is what the beauty powder compact looks like, it's white all around, the label on the back is black. The detailing on the front is on a kind of raised surface on the compact, it's not a sticker.

And here are the beauty powders, Summer Rose on the left, and Shell Pearl on the right. These are my first beauty powders from MAC ever. They were $30 CAD each, which is kinda pricey, but they are larger than regular blushes and come with a nice mirror inside and the packaging is soo cute.  I ordered these online from MAC, wish I love doing because shipping is always free (there is always a code availalbe) and they always come next day. I hadn't seen these products in stores prior to buying them, the collection was released online first, then in stores, and I snatched them up.

I have read that these beauty powders, especially Shell Pearl will show up more as a highlighter on some people because it is quite light, but since I am quite fair, it shows up fine for me. I wore it over Melba the other night and it looked really good. Both of these products are repromotes, Summer Rose came out with the Rose Romance collection, and Shell Pearl came out around Christmas last with the mineralized kits. I have also read that some girls on youtube bought these, just to pop out the product and put their MSFN in there to carry around in their purse, girls are funny that way. I like these beauty powders a lot so far.

What did you get from the collection? I wanted to get the Prim and Proper blush, but decided it was too muddy and dark. Also wanted some of the eyeshadows, like Birds and Berries that everyone was going crazy over, but I have enough shadows. The Blooming Lovely l/s looked good too, but would I wear it? Probably not.

Birthday presents at MAC!

So my birthday was recently, and my bf asked me what I wanted.. I said I want MAC! :)

We went to the mall, picked out a couple of things and then went to a fancy dinner.

To me, this is a big MAC haul, I know it doesn't compare at all to what makeup guru's on youtube get, but MAC is expensive and I can't buy it all that often.

That's the April issue of Flare, that I got in the mail recently.

I got 3 blushes: Well dressed (on top), Melba (below) and Dainty (next to that). Partial to Pink creamsheen glass and a sample of the new MAC mineralize spf 15 foundation, they didn't have my colour in stock.
