Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse Finally Comes To Canada

The Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse foundation has finally arrived in Canada! This was a foundation that I heard about month and month ago on youtube, I wanna say like 6 months ago maybe more? And have been on the lookout for it since then. I wonder WHY it took so long to get to Canada? Anyway, it's finally here. I picked up mine at Walmart for about $10, Shoppers Drug Mart has it for about $15 (don't waste your money, buy it at Walmart). And there are testers available too, of course they are already destroyed and disgusting at Walmart!

I picked it up in the lightest colour, 110 Porcelain Ivory. It's not that light, similar shade selection to Maybelline's other 'dream' foundations, if you had trouble finding a match in those, you will in this one too. I bought the Dream Liquid Mousse in Classic Ivory (which is too dark for me) so I got this in the lightest possible.

Other reviewers were not kidding when they say the packaging on this is very bulky. In the top you get a sponge, it has it's own little compartment. The bottom part unscrews and as you tell in the bottom picture on the right, that is the product there, it doesn't look like much.

I only got this a few days ago, so I will test it out for a bit and then will write a review of what I think of it. So far, I'd like to compare it to MAC Moistureblend foundation, which is a similar hydrating, cream foundation. I will say right off, this is a product for those with normal-dry skin, since it is moisturizing. I hope it works out for my dry skin. I have been using it mostly just with a stippling brush, but will mess around with other options to see what works best. How do you apply this?

Have you tried this product? What did you think?

I'm usually not wearing mousse foundation but this one seems good. I used for a long time mac moisture blend because of this dewy finish and moisturizing side. I love it especially during winter when my skin goes crazy dry but it's discontinued :-((

@Marilou - I thought that moistureblend was being discontinued, but I still see it in some shades on the mac cosmetics canada website. Maybe studio tech is similar? have you tried that one?

I swatched that foundation at the store and I loved the texture! But if you have oily skin like I do stay away, as it feels too moisturizing!

I had bought and used MAC's moistureblend, but unfortunately, it gave me zits. =[
I saw the mousse at WM yesterday, but like you said, all the testers were disgusting, so I didn't even want to dip my fingers in to test the shades out.
I will keep an eye out on your follow up review to see if this breaks you out before deciding if I should get this or not ;)

My biggest complaints with foundation is that it exaggerates my patchy dry areas... so hopefully this will work for you! Can't wait for the reviews :D

I've tried every kinda brush with this but my favorite is the elf studio flat top brush or any kind of flat top brush! Try it and let me know what u think! :)

I haven't, because I am worried it will break me out.

@ Stavroula - Definitely agree, I've read even dry skinned people complain that this makes them look oily and shiny!

@Junerose - I just took the lightest they had at walmart, people make such a mess out of those testers at walmart, it's not even funny.

@ndoodles - This is a problem I have too, which is why I try and pick out foundations that claim to be hydrating, hopefully this works out alright.

@leechee - Flat tops seems to be a HG brush for me too.

@Cosmetics Aficionado - I worry that too with foundations, but I can't help but want to try it out anyway. ;)

I use the QUO Kabuki brush with this foundation, you don't need much to get a nice coverage and it feels lightweight on the skin. Although I still haven't found my colour match and it does get a bit oily as the day goes on just around my nose but my skin tends to get dry in the winter months so it may be a good thing. Can't wait for your review.

I don't use this often but I used the sponge the first few times and then I retried it with a foundation brush. Neither really worked all that well LOL... I've been avoiding doing a review on it until I figure out how the heck to apply it.
