The brush is long and thin, but fluffy with lots of small teeth on it that are tightly packed (my ideal mascara brush design) with traditional bristles. I like this sort of brush because it can easily cover most of the span of your eyelashes in one swipe. The brush reminds me of the Maybelline Turbo Express Volume (which I love). The colour I have is 01 Black, this is quite a dramatic, dark black. I've only tried a few Clinique mascaras and they were all from gift with purchase sets, I know they have a decent collection of mascara, I just never really gravitated to buy any from them.
Here is what I am working with, lashes are quite light, tips are blond, decent length I think but could be better, I normally look for volumizing mascara over lengthening ones, but some from both camps would be ideal.
And here it is applied with 2 coats. I like how the formula feels very light and glides on your lashes, you do not need to apply much pressure. The colour is very black and makes my lashes look quite long because the tips are now coloured (all mascara gives me this effect). Volume? I guess slightly. I think this mascara overall is good, but doesn't give me any result that a cheaper drugstore mascara can achieve.
Do you like this Clinique mascara? or Clinique mascaras in general? Do you find that expensive mascaras are not really worth the extra price?
i've got Clinique's High Lenghts Mascara and it's true: the formula is light, but does not make you go WOW! I love its weird brush, it is sooo smudge free, there's no way in hell you'll get mascara all over your eyelid, the way it goes with Rimmel's Lash Accelerator, for example. I use Clinique's brush for separating my lashes and love that, but I would not buy it, especially that it is pretty expensive (Mine is a tester).
ReplyDeleteIs this the one that is removable by warm water?
ReplyDelete@Weijie - I think that's lash power, looking at the website now. I always use neutrogena oil-free makeup remover to remove all my mascara.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review! I haven't tried any mascaras from Clinique.
ReplyDeleteI got this one free with a GWP and I really liked it. But I have a drawer full of mascaras so I'm not really tempted to go and buy a full size.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite mascara of all time is Chanel Inimitable, which is ridiculously expensive - $60ish here in Australia, I believe. Given that, as I mentioned, I currently have a ton of others, I can't justify spending that much money on mascara at the moment. Maybe if I ever get through what I have and I have absolutely no more mascara left I might decide to just buy that one and that one only. But I have enough for the next couple of years, so who knows. ;-)
I have this mascara and I actually really don't like it, it takes forever to dry and I usually end up with mascara on my lids. For me the formula is just too wet and I have to spend some time wiping off some of it from the wand.
ReplyDeleteI've never tried Clinique's makeup, only their skincare. But their Lash Power Mascara Long Wearing Formula (ridiculously long name) is really popular here in Japan!!

I love this mascara, I have only used samples but it's never disappointed me!
