Review: Physicians Formula Eye Booster

I am always attracted to eyelash boosting products, or serums that promise to give you long, fluttery lashes. I recently picked up Physicians Formula Eye Booster 2 in 1 Day and Night Lash Boosting Serum. It was sitting in the clearance bin at Shoppers Drug Mart for $2, I couldn't pass it up. Plus, it has a Full Price Rebate form on it, meaning I could mail the manufacturer the receipt and get all my money back, I think I will pass on that, it was $2 after all! I have previously used the L'oreal Lash Serum and had decent results with that, and I like Physicians Formula as a brand, so I thought I would give this a try.

What I like most of all about this product is the packaging, it comes in a sleek silver pen applicator. It has a nice weight to it and it looks pretty. Physicians Formula products are pretty expensive for drugstore, but they are quite good, and this is much more affordable obviously than any prescription product. This brand makes hypoallergenic, fragrance and paraben free products too, which this is and this product is safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.

The applicator is a precise brush tip which is easy to use. I have this in the clear serum version, there are others in black and brown too, they can be used as eyeliner. And that's what this serum is essentially, it comes in an eyeliner format, but clear. You apply it to the base of your lashes (where your lashes grow from), that way it targets the root where it is most effective in providing nutrients associated with growing long, thick lashes. The L'oreal Lash Serum was meant to be combed through the lashes, whereas this is applied at the base, which I prefer. The directions say not to apply it inside the lash line. I suck at applying eyeliner, actually I almost never wear it, but this is foolproof, as long as you get it close to your lashes you are good. It dries quickly and deposits a small amount of product, so it does not irritate your eyes.

This product is supposed to "visibly enhance natural lash growth while nourishing and conditioning lashes." It's supposed to give high performance and 24 hour boost. The results are supposed to be visible and lasting. On the back  of the package here it says 87% of women say longer lashes, after 2 weeks 86% saw fuller lashes, and 87% saw extended, defined and more enhanced lashes. After 4 weeks, over 93% of women saw extended, defined and more enhanced lashes. Sounds good right? I have a hard time using the same product for a month long, but I will try my best.

I've included some photos of my bare eyelashes on Day 1 here. My plan is to report back in two weeks or so and then in a month to show what results I got.

Would I recommend this product? I can't comment at all on the results that this gives as I just started using it. I do like the pen brush tip applicator however, it's easy to use.

  1. I tried this months ago but it never worked for me. I might try again cause Shoppers Drug Mart is selling this in a two pack right now for $16.99. You get a black/brown eyeliner & bonus serum.
Hopefully this works for you :)

  3. $2?! oh wow! I paid the whole $16.99 and the refund took FOREVER (like... 3 months) to get here. I really like the black one... it doesn't glide or "crack" during the day. hope you like the results!
