Glamoflauge is Hard Candy's heavy duty concealer. This product was pretty much..impossible for me to find. I went to 6-7 Walmarts looking for this. If they had any, they were always in the two dark colours, never in Light. So I had an awesome blogger send this to me, all the way from Florida, thank you Stephanie from ImperfectlyPainted! If it hadn't been for her, I would probably still be hunting around for this! Well the wait was well worth it, I love this concealer! Hard Candy describes this product as "A heavy duty, highly pigmented, multi-use concealer that delivers ultimate coverage. The formula blends seamlessly into skin with plenty of play time creating a flawless and natural look perfect for any occasion. You can hide everything from dark circles and blemishes to tattoos!"
This product comes in 3 shades: Light, Medium and Tan. I wish it came in more shades to suit more people, but for me Light works great, I am NC15 in MAC for reference. This comes with a squeeze tube (20g or 0.71oz) with pointed tip applicator, that way you can squeeze out as much as you need and hopefully not waste any. You can also get a concealer pencil, the directions on the back of the box describe that you can use this to line the edges of your tattoo with the pencil and then fill it in, then apply the Glamoflauge over the entire tattoo, pat and let dry, apply 2-3 coats if needed. Then apply powder over top. I use the pencil to conceal around my nose, but it's the Glamoflauge itself that I like the most.
The dab in the top picture is all you will need, in fact that is too much. I end up squeezing too much each time, but I am not worried since the package is so huge! it will last me forever. I don't see myself re-purchasing this any time soon. To apply it, I use a blending brush like the Sigma E35 or any eye blending brush, I feel like applying with your fingers would apply too much because this product is soo thick and concentrated.
This concealer is intended for tattoo concealing (much like the Kat Von D concealer) but you can use it anywhere you like, under the eyes for me, or on the face to conceal problem areas. For me, my cheeks have redness (or what the brits call 'high colouring') and I use it on there too, but my skin doesn't seem to like it and I get bumps. I have also read that people mix this in with their lighter-coverage foundations to add more coverage, which is a great idea too.
The top picture is with no concealer or anything, just moisturizer, and the bottom is with Glamoflauge. I think the difference is pretty noticeable. This concealer is thick and pigmented, but doesn't feel dry under my eyes. I think for some, it may be too much for under the eyes, and not moisturizing enough. I would say it's not moisturizing, but it conceals hella good! Does it sink into fine lines? Yes it does. I have two lines as you can tell under my eyes.. damn getting old! And all concealers sink into there for me, despite how much I might moisturize and primer beforehand, fact. Does it crease? not so much, but it does fade and settle slightly in the inner corner as the day goes on.
And here is both eyes, with Glamoflauge on left and nothing on right. This definitely brightens for me and is one of the best concealers that I've used EVER. This for me, performs like MAC Studio Finish but without the cakiness and dryness.
Would I recommend this product? For sure, if you have some serious darkness under the eyes, this will cover it. And if you are tried of searching for a good concealer, stop, it's here. Love it! I had a lady at Walmart stop me and ask for a good under-eye concealer and I told her either this or Revlon Age Defying moisturizing creme because those are my two high-coverage drugstore favourites.
Awww... I got this in light and it was WAY too light for me. The next time I tried looking for medium, but all the mediums were sold out! Only light and tan left. *sigh* Maybe it's fate.
ReplyDeleteyippy you finally found it.
ReplyDeleteGreat review, I am finding I am using it everyday with my maybelline fit me foundation at the moment. I am sure it is just a phase I am going through, but I am liking it quite a bit.
Woww it looks like a good one!!I use Revlon Colorstay and age defying concealers...good ones!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a BIG difference it makes! Glad you eventually got it. Time for me to scour every Walmart in my city! lol
ReplyDeleteI need this in my life...Alas it is always sold out. Nice post!!
ReplyDeleteI found this to be too drying for my skin, but it does work great for hiding under eye circles! Looks great on you. :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks nice on you! I found on me that it looks terrible after a few hours; I still prefer the revlon age defying.
ReplyDeleteMy Walmart is terrible in terms of stocking the Hard Candy stuff. I've never even seen this there but I've wanted to try it for a long time. It sounds really great based on your review - it just sucks how it only comes in 3 shades, though.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it awesome!? It's my lastest favorite. I have it in medium, and the color is a bit weird (by weird, I mean green. lol) and I want to pick up "Light".. but I've been to about 4 Wal-marts and none of them have any but Tan in stock. How annoying!!!
ReplyDeleteNice.. I desperately need something for my panda eyes x.x
ReplyDeleteAaaaaargh I want this so bad!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip! I might try using the #55 brush with some blush and see how that works out because I actually have some cream blushes that are begging to be played with! LOL.
ReplyDeleteI am actually doing a post soon on the Mary Kay concealer which I love so far, but now I wanna try this one too!
I'm glad it works for you! I really wish they made a color between the light and medium because the light is too light and the medium is too dark for me. It really is a great concealer!
ReplyDeleteI am still on the hunt & not giving up hope that one day this will be mine!
ReplyDeleteThis concealer looks great. The coverage looks phenomenal. Thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeletei am definitely buying this now!!
