All Cosmetics Wholesale Haul

My order came in from Allcosmeticswholesale today. If you haven't ordered from them they are a great place to get discounted makeup and discontinued items too. I have no affiliation with them, I've just ordered from them myself and love their products. But I will say, shipping is expensive in my opinion, but at least they ship to Canada, which is great. I will show you what I got, reviews on everything are coming up if there is interest. Edit: Recently I had a negative experience with All Cosmetics Wholesale and will not be purchasing with them again, their customer service (or lack of) is terrible and I suggest you avoid them. (November 12/2011)

Smashbox's Photo Finish foundation primer in the Color Correcting version Adjust. This is a green-toned corrector meant to cancel out redness in the face. I love the packaging on this, it has a pump, nice light bottle. Even if the green doesn't do anything, the primer itself is awesome and I've always wanted to try a full bottle of the stuff. Have you tried it? Does it work?

MAC Phloof! eyeshadow, this is a frosted off-white colour. In person to me it looks a little pinky with a kind of blue sheen. I love building up my MAC eyeshadow collection. I ordered Nocturnelle and Signed and Sealed eyeshadow off Amazon.com recently too.

And lastly, Laura Mercier Moisturizing Foundation the colour, Blush Ivory. Very nice frosted glass bottle, great pump, love it. I was hesitant to get this, but ACW only had this shade available and it was only $29 vs paying $42 at Sephora for it, so I grabbed it. I thought it would have pink undertones, but it is surprisingly neutral toned I think and it will hopefully work for me. Is it moisturizing? I would have to say no on first impression, I swatched it and it doesn't seem all that to me (I have dry skin so anything with the word "moisturizing" in the name is a winner for me).

I caught the sunset in Toronto in my picture that is what you are seeing there, I thought it was kind of cool. Have a good weekend everyone!

  2. Oooh! Nice choice with Phloof! It's one of my favourite shimmery highlighters, especially when doing purple eyes.

  4. Nice haul! I am looking forward to the review of the LM foundation.
I have never ordered from ACW as I have read some posts on MUA about how bad the CS is when there is a problem with an order. I use brigettesboutique.com instead, plus her s/h to Canada is much more reasonable than ACW's.

  5. MORE foundation?! You have so many!! I like Photo Finish but I wouldn't really recommend it to anyone with more oily skin. If you have normal or dry skin, you should be fine. It's pretty "slick" and can feel oily which I personally like because my skin is so dry! But I love that it gives this nice, smooth canvas for applying foundation.

I'm using Tarte's Smooth Operator right now because Photo Finish got a little "slick" for me. Will use again when my face gets dryer though.

  6. !!!

If shipping and/or currency adjustment is less than what I would pay with tax for an LM foundation here, I'm SO glad you pointed me to that site! AMAZING.

Re: Smashbox primers - I hate them all with a passion. They just feel waxy on me and the green one made me break out. But, of course, different effect for different people. I'm probably with the minority on this topic.

  7. @tracy - my order total was $67.97 and shipping was $11.50. The eyeshadow didn't weight much, the primer not really either. The foundation was pretty heavy, I am sure it's by weight. I would love free shipping, but that normally isn't extended to "international" orders.

@Junerose - This was my 2nd or 3rd time ordering, haven't had any problems, but haven't had to deal with customer service at all either. I will check out that other site, haven't been on it before. I found some sellers on Amazon recently too and ship to Canada and I was thrilled.

@kali - I love foundation, I would give up every makeup item if I could just have foundation! haha yeah. I have dry skin, so adding oiliness is good! :)

@Beauty Reductionista - eek sorry to hear it made you break out! I will report back. Did it do anything to cut down on redness at all?

  10. If you get a chance, try out genes vitamin e cream. It's sold at Sam's Club for around $8 US but can be found on Amazon too. I came across this by accident and it is now my HG moisturizer. You might like it too!

  13. What shipping method did you choose? And did you let them send it to you with an insurance? If so, how much have you paid for the insurance?

    ReplyDelete
  14. @kimberleyborsboom - I chose the cheapest shipping method that they had (I am in Canada). I did not ask for insurance, I never do. It's nice because you can see how much your shipping will be in your shopping cart before you place the order, so you can put as many items as you want accordingly.

  15. I will be doing a blog post about this soon, but, I do not recommend All Cosmetics Wholesale, and if you are looking for reviews on their customer service, I can tell you it sucks from personal experience.

  16. I never purchased from ACW but wanted to do some research and that is how I come across your blog. I too am reading about poor customer service from them. Right now I stick with brigettesboutique.com and rock-the-catwalk.com and am pretty happy. I would like to try OCC lip tars from ACW but maybe not after reading so many bad reviews. I'm glad you posted to help the community out. May I ask what happened in your situation?

  17. @Anonymous - I have ordered from brigettesboutique.com and had no problems at all. As far as ACW go, they sent me the wrong product, I sent it back to them first (what they requested), before I got the right product back. Since I am in Canada, this all took a long time. Once I got the product, what I received in the mail was a spilled powder, the product looked used and so dirty, I didn't even want to keep it. After trying to contact them for a week straight, with no response, I almost gave up.

Then I saw that they had a Facebook page (I contacted them on twitter too and no response), and saw that others had complained too, told them about my situation. They gave me the runaround about how their products are authentic and sometimes they come without a box. I explained that the powder had spilled all over and I do not want it, want to send it back. They said that they don't cover that, only if I had bought the more expensive shipping option, since it was a problem in the shipping. I don't think that was the case, they did not offer me anything, so I am stuck with the product now, and very unhappy with their lack of customer service (going a week without contacting their customers and ignoring them? not cool at all).

  18. I can plan doing a full blog post about this because after some time has passed, I am still annoyed about it. I order online a lot and have never had treatment like this.

  19. I have received terrible customer service recently! And I would encourage all potential buyers to avoid this website at all costs!!!

    1. Five months later my order has still not arrived and despite many emails, Sheri Butte copy and pasted the same replies to me, like she was an automated computer.

    2. Today, she sent me an email to advise that the parcel had been returned because of an incorrect address.

    3. I asked for a full refund as I did not want to pay postage AGAIN for makeup that had been in transit for five months.

    4. I was not given a full refund and she was highly rude and said it was my fault because I provided the incorrect address. That which I did not!!!!!!! I don't know how she thinks she has the nerve to tell me where I live in Australia?!

Nothing but painful and rude dealings. Avoid, Avoid, Avoid!!

  20. OMG worst customer service ever! I have purchased from them for the last 2 years & god knows how much money I have wasted! Last couple of times I received few faulty items & I just ignored it. But recently I got 2 completely damaged item (nicely hidden in packaging) & I asked her to have it replaced. She sends me the ACW policy email & tells me I should have paid for insurance on top of the $38 I spend on shipping (btw I only had 5 measly small items)I always ignore her ridiculous high shipping charges & just buy goodies for myself, family, & friends but never again! I replied back to her but she just ignores my email. I'm sure ACW doesn't care if they lose a customer but at least I won't be spending hundreds of dollars on a so called discount site. Not to mention you run the risk of getting a fake item no matter how reputable. I'd rather just shop in the store worry free.

  21. SORRY BUT I HAVE HAD REALLY BAD EXPERIENCE ORDERING FROM THAT COMPANY. SHIPPING TAKES FOREVER AND PRODUCT WAS OLD, OLD , OLD. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL. NOT WORTH THE TINY SAVINGS, SUPER EXPENSIVE SHIPPING FOR POOR QUALITY PRODUCT.
