What products am I thankful for? Ideally all the products that we buy would work well, they would not disappoint us, break us out, cause us to wonder why we bought them in the first place etc. But that is not the case, that is why you see so many favorite and HG posts all over the internet, people are always looking to find the next best thing, never totally satisfied with what we have already. I have a couple of products which I would deem my everyday favourites, products that I love having in my collection and would re-buy.
Quick dry top-coat. This has got to be one of the best beauty inventions ever. No one wants to wait for their nails to dry. Just pile on some top coat (specifically I love Seche Vite or the OPI Fast Forward or Start To Finish) and helps your nails dry quickly and makes them super shiny! Although I do find the Seche Vite to get gloppy and disgusting once you are halfway through the bottle, I still love it. I feel naked without topcoat, it's like a sweater for your nails.
The eyelash curler, another great invention. Pictured is my Revlon one, I haven't found a huge difference between high-end and drugstore eyelash curlers. For me this is a must-have item since my lashes looks so much better when they are curled, I don't even bother putting mascara on if I don't curl my lashes.
I am thankful for lash growth products. The L'oreal lash serum totally changed the look of my lashes, I still use it regularly. As someone who never had long-enough lashes, always wanting them to be fuller and longer, products like these make me happy. I am not sure if the Revlon grow luscious does anything, but I like to think it does.
Concealer is another item that should be essential in every girl's makeup bag and it's definitely a favourite of mine. I am thankful that there are so many different concealers out there, all types of formulations, textures, different ones for all areas of your face. I love the MAC studio finish for blemishes. The select coverup for pretty much all over, and the others primarily for under eye concealing. Where would we be without concealers? it's fabulous.
Being a light girl, bronzer is heaven-sent for me. I use bronzer pretty much everyday, as an all-over powder more or less. It gives me that extra perk me up, specifically I like the Physicians Formula bronze booster.
Last and probably most important, I am thankful for liquid foundation. The kind that provides good coverage while not caking up and making my dry skin look drier. Some favourites right now are Clinique Redness Solutions, NARS sheer glow and Lancome teint idole ultra.
What products are you thankful for?
I also want to take this moment to wish everyone in the US a Happy Thanksgiving! Don't shop too hard today!
Nars sheer glow is such a good foundation to get a flawless skin :)
ReplyDeleteI'm also very fair so bronzer are my angels sent from heaven as well haha but I really want to try the HOOLA by Benefit. Isn't it too dark? or do you have to be careful when you apply it in order not to look orange.
Guerlain bronzer is just wow.
Great post my dear
xoxo
Marilou
def. concealers and eyeliners! they really wake you up and covers imperfections :)
ReplyDelete@Marilou - Hoola does not come out orange on me at all, it's the coolest bronzer I have I think, it's a good one.
ReplyDeleteI love the Estee Lauder stay-in-place concealer!!
ReplyDeleteYou have a couple of my favourites in there too! I think the Physicians Formula Bronze Boost is a hidden gem! Its a great colour with the perfect amount of glow! I also love the Grow Luscious Mascara - only really because its great for volume, I don't think my lashes are any longer or stronger! Great post! :)
ReplyDeleteCover FX concealers or their cream foundation for sure! Only thing that covers up any marks decently. Also, my Shu Uemura eyelash curler :P I do see the difference from other brands haha xo
ReplyDeleteSeche Vite is great! I found that for my nails (for some reason) it makes my nailpolish peel-off in one layer after a few days. Not sure why...
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I agree with all of your choices!
ReplyDeleteI'm soo glad to see you do this post! I loved seeing your faves!
ReplyDeleteThankful for:
ReplyDelete-Liquid "pen" style eyeliner(a more defined line then pencil style eyeliner and way easier to use than wand style liquid liner)
- Lancome Hypnose Drama mascara
- Professional brushes/tools
- MAC eyeshadows. Where would we be without great shadows?!?
- Hoola Bronzer (LOVE IT!)
-a great nude lipstick
AND one of my most fave favorites..
MAC mineralized skin finish. LOVE THEM! Highlighter to die for!
I'm thankful for foundations that provide great coverage to hide my acne dark spots. MAC studio sculpt is doing the job now!
ReplyDeleteThankful for covergirl lash blast, it makes my lashes POP and look so flirty and pretty.
I'm thankful for cream eyeliners because they are so easy to apply and last all day.
wow, that's a great selection!
ReplyDeleteI am thankful for makeup in general... I don't know what I would do without my kit!
such a great idea for a post!
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful for my Maybelline Mineral Power blushes. I've started using them again on a daily basis.
Great post, Justine! We are definitely thankful for a few of the same products - I love Seche Vite and Hoola!
ReplyDeleteHi Justine,
ReplyDeletewhat shades are you in NARS Sheer Glow and Lancome Teint Idole? We might have the same shade... NARS isn't available in my country so I'm trying to figure out what to order :)
I am grateful for:
*YSL Teint Resist 1 Ivory foundation
*Estee Lauder Double Wear O2 concealer (under eye)
*Lancome Maquicomplete 01 concealer (for blemishes)
*MAC Blushcreme Ladyblush (blush)
*MUFE UV Prime (primer with SPF 50+)
*Rilastil Aqua Optimale (moisturizer)
*Shiseido Benefiance (eye cream)
I loved Seche Vite but now I wear Tammy Taylor acrylic nails with IBD gel polish.
@Rosanna - In Nars sheer glow I am gobi, which is light 3 (perfect shade for me, a tad yellow though) and in Lancome Teinte Idole I am buff 2, but I could probably go lighter.
